Art in The Third Reich

Art in The Third Reich

"Hardly any regime has put such a strong faith in the educational and persuative qualities of art, especially in Visual arts, but not just any kind of art. "Modernists" and "Non-Aryans" very excluded and in many cases brutally surpressed, only art in traditional forms was permitted and promoted. Through the new all-inclusice Reichskulturkammer every acceptable artists had opportunities and a minimum of financial security that was most welcomme, however the price they paid was a membership in the Nazi Party; but it was no other way you could practice your art. B. Hinz give a fascinating and at the same time, disturbing story of the Art Scene in Nazi Germany."
